So somewhere along the way, some post, picture, embedded video, who knows… We ran into a bit of a compatibility issue. While most folks could see our blog just fine, others (certain browsers, certain versions) could only see our theme.

We looked into correcting this, but since our blog is currently being integrated into a larger project, we’ve decided not to dedicate any more time into correcting our blog ‘theme’.

Instead, we’re focusing out time and efforts on the new site, with integrated blog.

See you there soon!

We’re proud to announce that we’re now the first (and only) in Ohio to carry rides from State Bicycle Co.

In their own words:

State Bicycle Co. is a fixed gear/single speed bicycle company based out of Tempe, Arizona. Our goal is to bring the most attractive, high quality, and smooth riding fixed gear/single speed bicycles to the market at the lowest price possible. We currently offer 13 different color combinations, 3 handlebar styles (bullhorns, riser bars, and drop bars), and 4 sizes (49cm, 52cm, 55cm, and 59cm). Each bicycle model that we offer is available for 3 months to a year before it is “retired” and we release newly designed models to replace it — when they’re gone, they’re gone.

Pake Build

This was a fun project looking for a good home. This very smooth Pake build saved money where it needed to, and put it in the areas where it couldn’t afford to skimp. The end result is a ride that feels like it cost twice as much.

A Bicycle For Our Minds

This week marked the passing of Apple co-founder, NExT founder (the people behind OS-X), and Pixar progenitor Steve Jobs.

I’ve been thinking about why this news seemed so sad to me. I’ve never met the man. It occurred to me while every generation has great thinkers, it is truly rare for one of those thinkers to have such a measurable and immediate impact on our lives. Gutenberg, Edison, Tesla, Jobs.

R.I.P. Steve.

Brooks Lilac Swift Limited Edition

We’ve just received from Brooks of England our limited edition Lilac Swift saddle. Ours is #0057 our of 99 I believe (possibly 100). This is a moment we look forward to every year, as Brooks only awards these to select 5 and 6 rivet dealers.

New updates from Brooks of England, mostly for 2012, but some available now.

WATERPROOF TRAVEL BAGS

After the critical success of the Devon and Cornwall Brooks has entered the market for waterproof travel bags with Eurobike Award winning front and rear panniers. The bags are named after the famous “Land’s End to John O’ Groats” cycle route between Great Britain’s two furthermost extremities. The Land’s End Rear panniers and John O’ Groats front panniers have challenged the assumption that a functional waterproof bag must inherently disregard aesthetic considerations.

Production begins in 2012

ETON SATCHEL

During the 2012 season Brooks will release the Eton Satchel, a redesign of a patent drawing from the 1910 Catalogue. Made in England of genuine Brooks saddle leather, the Eton functions both as a briefcase and a rucksack.

The Eton will be available in black and natural leather.

NEW COLOR ACCESSORIES

Brooks bar tape, trouser straps and slender grips are getting updated to complement this year’s vibrant saddle range.

Most bar tape colors are available now. Slender grips will be available in a long and short couple, for those of you with grip shifts. New slender grips colors and trouser strap colors will be available in 2012… and perhaps a bit earlier.
